Each installation is pre-validated at the factory, minimizing onsite disruption and accelerating the time to first clinical use.
CliniWater installs a compact Dialysis Water Treatment system fed from the hospital’s softened cold-water mains. The unit incorporates sediment pre-filtration (5 µm), carbon block chlorine removal, single-pass RO with a permeate capacity of 600 L/h, and a break tank with air gap to prevent back-contamination. Downstream, the Bicarbonate Mixing system automatically proportions dry bicarbonate powder with RO water in a 200 L sealed tank, maintaining a conductivity of 14.0 ± 0.2 mS/cm. A distribution loop supplies up to 8 dialysis chairs; unused water returns to the tank via a pressure-sustaining valve. The system’s Heat Disinfection Unit raises the entire circuit, including the bicarbonate tank, to 85 °C twice weekly.
Technical Note: The bicarbonate mixing tank must be emptied and rinsed with RO water after each disinfection cycle to prevent carbonate scale accumulation on heating elements. A Total Chlorine Analyzer plumbed after the carbon block will detect early exhaustion, preventing chlorine damage to the RO membrane.
For the endoscope reprocessing room, CliniWater deploys the Sterile Rinse Water System, a point-of-use multistage purifier that sequentially applies carbon filtration, reverse osmosis, electrodeionization, and 0.1 µm absolute-rated final filtration. Water quality is monitored for conductivity, and a built-in Total Chlorine Analyzer verifies the absence of residual disinfectant. The system directly feeds automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs) via a pressurized AER Feed System, ensuring a continuous supply of bacteria-free final rinse water. A separate AEOw Generator produces acidic oxidation potential water (pH 2.3–2.7, ORP > 1,100 mV) for manual high-level disinfection of heat-sensitive accessories.
Technical Note: The AEOw Generator’s electrolysis cell requires monthly cleaning with a 10% citric acid solution to remove scale. Validate the free available chlorine concentration of generated water daily using a Total Chlorine/pH Test Kit; a value below 20 mg/L indicates electrolyte depletion.
CliniWater positions a Dental Pure Water System within the dental cabinetry, designed for quiet operation and minimal footprint. The system comprises a 5 µm pre-filter, a low-energy RO membrane, and a UV sterilization chamber. Product water of < 10 µS/cm feeds dental unit waterlines. For practices without permanent plumbing modifications, a Portable Dental Water Unit on a mobile cart provides the same purification stages, with a 12 L internal accumulator tank delivering 1.5 L/min at the handpiece. To manage biofilm risk, the SAEW Generator produces slightly acidic electrolyzed water (pH 5.0–6.5, 10–30 mg/L available chlorine) for daily waterline flushing.
Technical Note: Dental unit waterlines must be purged with SAEW for 2 minutes at the beginning of each clinic day and after every patient. Monitor compliance using DUWL Test Strips; heterotrophic plate counts must remain < 100 CFU/mL per CDC guidelines.
Each departmental water system is bundled with a dedicated QC cart. For dialysis, this includes an Endotoxin Analyzer using the Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) kinetic chromogenic method with a sensitivity of 0.005 EU/mL, and a Microbiology Test Kit based on membrane filtration with R2A agar, incubated at 22 °C for 7 days. For endoscopy, a Membrane Filtration Kit with a 0.45 µm filter and a Filter Integrity Tester using the water-intrusion test method are supplied. The dental suite receives Total Chlorine/pH Test Kits and Waterline Shock Treatment Kits for corrective action when test results exceed thresholds. All QC instruments connect via Bluetooth to a tablet-based logbook, automatically uploading results to the department’s quality dashboard.
Technical Note: The Filter Integrity Tester must be challenged daily with a 0.2 µm hydrophobic test filter; a failure indicates a compromised water-intrusion algorithm. Calibrate the Endotoxin Analyzer against a certified reference standard endotoxin (CSE) every 90 days.
CliniWater provides a three-day onsite commissioning and training program. Day 1 covers system theory, component identification, and daily startup/shutdown protocols. Day 2 is hands-on QC instrument operation, including LAL test preparation, membrane filtration technique, and hardness testing. Day 3 delivers scenario-based troubleshooting: responding to a conductivity alarm, performing an emergency carbon bypass, and executing a Waterline Shock Treatment using the kit. Upon completion, each operator receives a competency card and a laminated quick-reference guide affixed next to the system. CliniWater’s remote support portal is activated, enabling the department to share real-time sensor data with CliniWater service engineers.
Technical Note: All operators must demonstrate the ability to correctly perform a Hardness Test Kit titration within 10% of the reference value before being signed off. Annual refresher training is recommended to address staff turnover and protocol updates.
